NMR Chemical Shift Ranges of Urine Metabolites in Various Organic Solvents

چکیده
Signal stability is essential for reliable multivariate data analysis. Urine samples show strong variance in signal positions due to inter patient differences. Here we study the exchange of the solvent of a defined urine matrix and how it affects signal and integral stability of the urinary metabolites by NMR spectroscopy. The exchange solvents were methanol, acetonitrile, dimethyl sulfoxide, chloroform, acetone, dichloromethane, and dimethyl formamide. Some of these solvents showed promising results with a single batch of urine. To evaluate further differences between urine samples, various acid, base, and salt solutions were added in a defined way mimicking to some extent inter human differences. Corresponding chemical shift changes were monitored.

A Description of Reference Ranges for Organic Acids in Urine Samples from A Pediatric Population in Iran
Background: Organic acids refer to a family of compounds that are intermediates in a variety of metabolic pathways. Many organic acids are present in urine from clinically normal individuals. Elevated levels of urine organic acids cause to the organic acidurias, disorders in which some metabolic pathways in organic acid metabolism are blocked. The present work identified major and minor urinary...

متن کاملCombining Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography (HILIC) and Isotope Tagging for Off-Line LC-NMR Applications in Metabolite Analysis
The complementary use of liquid chromatography (LC) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) has shown high utility in a variety of fields. While the significant benefit of spectral simplification can be achieved for the analysis of complex samples, other limitations remain. For example, (1)H LC-NMR suffers from pH dependent chemical shift variations, especially during urine analysis, owing to the ...
متن کاملAb Initio Calculation 29Si NMR Chemical Shift Studies on Silicate Species in Aqueous and Gas Phase
Nowadays NMR spectroscopy becomes a powerful tool in chemistry because of the NMR chemical shifts. Hartree–Fock theory and the Gauge-including atomic orbital (GIAO) methods are used in the calculation of 29Si NMR chemical shifts of various silicate species in the silicate solution as initial components for zeolite synthesis both in gas and solution phase. Calculations have been performed at geo...
متن کاملQuantitative determination of urinary metabolites in subjects exposed to organic solvents.
Most of the common organic solvents are excreted into urine as metabolites. A correlation exists for several organic solvents between the amount taken in and the amount of metabolites excreted. Many methods have been developed for the measurement of these urinary metabolites. The methods were classified into three group: colorimetry, gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography...
